Core Values

Resilience - Ensuring the longevity of our community and secondary school esports with reliable and fair practices

Focus - Staying on our mission to support and organize esports in our local secondary schools

Innovation - Being pioneers for new, fresh and effective ideas

Association Story

The MVSSEA was formed as a result of a test-run Super Smash Bros. 4 league between secondary schools students from 5 schools across Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby. The mission: to have esports be a legitimate field in secondary school extracurriculars. As a result of our humble beginnings, we have been attributed as a grassroots movement, and continue to push that spirit of effort and passion.

Since then, we have experimented with esports in secondary schools with games like League of Legends, Fortnite, etc. while nurturing the growth of the secondary school esports community. Along the way, bonds between students from schools across the region were formed, unforgettable moments have been shared between players and so much more. As we look forward, we not only plan to continue this, but also to become a trusted name in all levels of the school ecosystem.
